Disneyland Food Guide: Our Tried and True Favorites!

There are SO many amazing places to eat at Disneyland. We definitely recommend making a list of all the things you’d like to try and then organize your list by park and location. For example, “Disneyland” –> “Fantasyland”. That way, when you’re in a particular area of the park, it’ll be super easy to see what’s on your personalized list.

Look at all those treats!

TIP: Use the Disney app’s Mobile Ordering feature. You can enter your orders in advance, so all you have to do is pick it up at your determined time. This will save you time so you don’t have to wait in long meal lines! Also be sure to check out the official Disney Dining website!

Grey Stuff

Where to Find It: Red Rose Taverne, Fantasyland, Disneyland

Grey Stuff (Best food!) at Disneyland in California

While you’re in Disneyland, head to the Red Rose Taverne and order a serving of the Grey Stuff. This delicious dessert is a play-on-words from the movie Beauty and the Beast. There’s a line from the song Be Our Guest that reads, “Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!”

We ordered a holiday version of the Grey Stuff during our last trip to Disneyland. At the base was a shortbread cookie, and it was topped with a mouse that tasted like cookies and cream. Inside the mouse was red velvet cake, and it was even topped with a star, like a Christmas tree. We ate every bite of the Grey Stuff!

Tip: When you purchase Disneyland tickets through Undercover Tourist, an authorized ticket seller, you can save money on your park tickets! For example, you can save money on 4-Day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets!

Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread

Where to Find It: Maurice’s Treats, Fantasyland, Disneyland

Garlic Cheesy Pretzel Bread from Maurice's Treats
We will definitely be getting this one again!

The snack that’s so good that we bought it TWICE in the same trip! The Garlic Cheezy Pretzel Bread tastes as good as it looks. We recommend ordering it with a side of marinara sauce. Please feel free to thank us for this recommendation! 🙂

Tigger Tail

Where to Find It: Pooh Corner, Critter Country, Disneyland

Tigger Tail from Pooh Corner at Disneyland

Okay, how cute is this Tigger Tail? While it’s definitely Instagrammable in terms of looks, it also holds up in terms of taste! It’s a marshmallow wand that’s dipped in caramel and then covered in orange-flavored white chocolate. (The stripes are made of dark chocolate.) I thought it had a creamsicle-like flavor. Our daughter loved this because the presentation is so fun. It also ended up being one of our favorites taste-wise too!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Square

Where to Find It: Pooh Corner, Critter Country, Disneyland

Peanut Butter Square from Pooh Corner

While you’re at Pooh Corner, don’t miss out on the Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares! They may not seem as enticing as some of the other options, but I promise you these are soooo good. These are better than any candies you will find at your grocery store at home. We bought these earlier in the day and saved them for dessert on our way back to our hotel. It was one of our favorite bites of the whole trip!

Lobster Nachos

Where to Find It: Lamplight Lounge – Boardwalk Dining, Pixar Pier, Disney California Adventure Park

lobster nachos from lamplight lounge
Definitely order these!

My husband and I both agreed that our favorite meal of the entire trip was the lobster nachos from Lamplight Lounge! We originally had reservations for the table-service portion of Lamplight Lounge, but they took the lobster nachos off the menu. So, at the last minute, we canceled that reservation and went upstairs to the boardwalk area of Lamplight Lounge. They were able to seat us within 15 minutes, and we were so excited to try these nachos. These nachos had the best flavors! There was plenty of fresh lobster, chipotle crema, lobster cheese sauce, black beans, and jalapenos. We plan on ordering these nachos every time we go to Disney for as long as they have them!

Choco Smash Candy Bar

Where to Find It: Pym Test Kitchen, Avenger’s Campus, Disney California Adventure Park

Choco Smash Candy Bar from Pym Test Kitchen
The photo doesn’t do this candy bar justice!

We had the Choco Smash Candy Bar on our radar for almost a year. We were so excited to finally try it, and it lived up to our expectations! The candy bar is freshly made with dark chocolate, caramel, peanuts, caramel, nougat, and brownie. It’s a large candy bar, so it’s perfect for sharing.

Frozen Apple Juice

Where to Find It: Snack Cart, Fantasyland, Disneyland

Frozen apple juice at Disneyland in California

Directly across from the Red Rose Taverne is a snack cart that serves frozen apple juice. This refreshing slushie is perfect for a hot summer day at Disneyland! Our daughter absolutely loved this treat. I was chatting with a cast member, and she told me that she recently gave a private tour to a very famous celebrity. The frozen apple juice was his favorite treat!

Black Caf Cold Brew

Where to Find It: Docking Bay 7, Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland

Black Caf Cold Brew at Docking Bay 7 at Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland

If you are a coffee drinker, be sure to get a Black Caf Cold Brew! I rarely drink coffee (typically once  a week), and this drink was one of my favorite beverages at Disney. It’s lightly sweet, and the chocolate puffs on top make it feel like a cookies and cream drink. I’m going to try to make this recipe at home, because I can’t wait until my next Disney trip to have it again! One thing to note, though, is that during our visit the stand didn’t open until 10:30am. So, this isn’t a coffee you can have first thing in the morning. BUT, definitely leave room for it because it is out-of-this-world. (Couldn’t help myself!)

Fried Chicken Dinner

Where to Find It: Plaza Inn, Main Street USA, Disneyland

Fried Chicken Dinner at Plaza Inn at Disneyland in California
The dinner is pictured on the left, and a kids meal on the right

Fried chicken is one of our favorite meals, and the Plaza Inn on Main Street makes an amazing Fried Chicken Dinner. We were able to order this meal just from their quick-order counter. Each plate comes with three pieces of chicken fried to perfection, mashed potatoes and gravy, a buttermilk biscuit, and seasonal vegetables. My husband and I split this meal, which still left plenty of room for more Disney snacks!

Mickey Beignet

Where to Find It: Mint Julep Bar, New Orleans Square, Disneyland

Mickey Beignet at Disneyland

The Mint Julep Bar at Disneyland is easily missed. The walk-up window is down a side alley and behind a fenced seating area. Be sure not to pass it by! The Mickey Beignets are one of our favorite sweet treats at Disneyland! The beignets are covered in powdered sugar. You can order a 3-pack or a 6-pack. Pro tip: Do not inhale before taking a bite of a beignet, or you might choke on powdered sugar! (Not speaking from experience or anything.)

Mint Julep

Where to Find It: Mint Julep Bar, New Orleans Square, Disneyland

Mint Julep in Disneyland

While you’re putting in your order for Mickey Beignets, be sure to also add a Mint Julep to your order. The Mint Juleps served here are non-alcoholic, and they have a refreshing mint flavor with a hint of lime. They’re an excellent complement to the sweetness of the beignets!

Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num

Where to Find It: Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums, Pixar Pier, Disney California Adventure Park

Jack-Jack cookie in California Adventure park at Disneyland

The Jack-Jack Cookie Num Num isn’t an ordinary chocolate chip cookie. This cookie is served warm with a soft center. Get extra napkins, because melted chocolate will be dripping off this delicious cookie. This cookie was easily in our top three favorite snacks at Disney! Our daughter still talks about this cookie.

Gumbo

Where to Find It: Blue Bayou Restaurant, New Orleans Square, Disneyland; OR Tiana’s Palace in New Orleans Square

Gumbo at Tiana's Palace
This is the gumbo at Tiana’s Palace. It really hit the spot!

We highly recommend that you make reservations at the Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square. This is our absolute favorite restaurant within Disneyland. Besides having an excellent menu, the restaurant is located overlooking the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Even though you’re dining indoors, it feels as if you’re dining outside under an evening sky in New Orleans. One of our favorite offerings on their menu is the Chicken Gumbo. The gumbo is served with ham, sausage, peppers, and steamed rice. It’s the perfect starter for your meal!

We also love the gumbo at Tiana’s Palace in New Orleans Square if you’re looking for a quick-service option! It’s a hearty meal and the spice level is perfect! Pair it with a beignet to balance out the heat, and it’s the perfect meal!

Mickey Churro Cookies

Where to Find It: Candy Palace, Main Street USA, Disneyland

Mickey Churro Cookies at Disneyland

While you’re visiting Disneyland, definitely stop by Candy Palace to see all the sweet treats. If you love churros, be sure to check out this cookie version!

Minnie Mouse Cake Pops

Where to Find It: Marceline’s Confectionary, Downtown Disney

Minnie Cake Pops at Disneyland

To try a Minnie Mouse Cake Pop, you don’t even need a park ticket. Just head to Downtown Disney and visit Marceline’s Confectionary. These rich cake pops were the perfect small treat after dinner. Tip: Buy an extra one just in case your toddler drops theirs on the ground…

Chili Cone Queso

Where to Find It: Cozy Cone Motel, Cars Land, Disney California Adventure Park

Chili Cone Queso at California Adventure Park in Disneyland

One of my favorite savory snacks is the Chili Cone Queso at the Cozy Cone Motel. This quick service restaurant serves a couple of different items, including the Bacon Mac ‘n’ Cheese. I’ve tried both, and I have to say I love the Chili Cone Queso just a tad bit more. It’s a soft bread cone filled with beef chili and topped with cheddar cheese and corn chips. There’s a handful of “cones” at this restaurant, each serving different menu items. At the nearby counters you can also purchase alcoholic beverages, ice cream, and churros.

Classic Churro

Where to Find It: Both parks have churro carts at multiple locations

Classic churro at Disneyland (my favorite food!)

My absolute favorite snack at Disneyland is the classic churro. I have to order at least one of these each trip. The long churro sticks are light and crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. Covered with cinnamon and sugar, they make for the perfect sweet treat!

Be sure to check out our post about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutqiue in Disneyland!

Breakfast Ronto Wrap

Where to Find It: Ronto Roasters, Galaxy’s Edge, Disneyland

Breakfast Ronto Wrap from Disneyland

The Breakfast Ronto Wrap was our favorite breakfast menu item at the parks. It consists of grilled pork sausage, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, peppercorn sauce, all wrapped in a pita. Pair it with the Black Caf Cold Brew and you’ll be in heaven!

Breakfast Chimichanga

Where to Find It: Ship to Shore Marketplace, Frontierland, Disneyland

Breakfast chimichanga at Disneyland

We heard so many good things about the breakfast chimichangas at Disneyland, so we were really looking forward to trying it. The chimichanga is made from a fried tortilla that’s filled with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and cheese. We thought this was a really solid breakfast option. We personally preferred the Ronto Wrap for breakfast at Disneyland, but this was still a really good breakfast.

Specialty Churro

Where to Find It: Churro Cart, Hollywood Land, Disney California Adventure Park

churro at California Adventure in Disneyland

In addition to trying the classic churro, we also recommend that you try one of the many specialty churros that are offered. Many of the churros are seasonal offerings, so be sure to check out the churro cart and see what’s available when you visit. During our last trip to California Adventure, we tried the Chocolate Cherry-Pistachio Churro. It was a classic churro rolled with chocolate dust and pistachio dust. It was topped with cherry sauce and chopped pistachios. It was unique and delicious!

Tip: Some food offerings sell out early! If it’s a “must have” for you, we recommend ordering it earlier in the day. During our last trip, we knew that the breakfast chimichanga often sells out. My husband made sure to get one using mobile ordering, and then he went to pick it up while I waited in line at Peter Pan with the kids. If you have more than one person in your party, it can be helpful to split up while the other is waiting in line for a ride.

Matterhorn Macaroon

Where to Find It: Jolly Holiday Bakery Care, Main Street USA, Disneyland

Matterhorn Macaroon at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe

For years, we’ve heard people rave about the Matterhorn Macaroons. Full disclosure: When we tried one in 2023, we didn’t like it at all, and I didn’t have it on this list. However, when we gave it a second chance in 2025, we loved it! I’m not sure if we got a stale one or a bad batch the first time, but the second time we tried it, it was so delicious. It made our favorites list, and I’m definitely going to get this again on our next Disney trip!

Hot Dog with Lots of Toppings

Where to Find It: Award Wieners, Hollywood Land, Disney California Adventure Park

Hot Dog at Disneyland California Adventure

Be sure to stop by Award Wieners and try one of their many hot dogs. We ordered their Bacon Street Dog, which was topped with a homemade red pepper ketchup, grilled onions, grilled peppers, and crispy bacon. This hot dog hit the spot!

Churro Toffee

Where to Find It: Candy Palace, Main Street USA, Disneyland; OR Trolley Treats; Buena Vista Street, Disney California Adventure Park; OR Marceline’s Confectionary, Downtown Disney

Churro Toffee at Disneyland

The Churro Toffee at Candy Palace has a legendary following. (Folks have even made copycat recipes to have this toffee at home!) If you love the flavor of churros and the crispiness of toffee, be sure to buy an order of the Churro Toffee. The Churro Toffee contains Disneyland’s buttery toffee dipped in white chocolate and then tossed in cinnamon and sugar. You can find Churro Toffee at most bakeries around the resort. They last for awhile, so you can easily buy one for the next day or for your travels home. (Tip: The Churro Toffee pairs well with a cup of coffee in the morning!)

Minnie Mouse Candy Apples

Where to Find It: Marceline’s Confectionary, Downtown Disney

Minnie Mouse Candy Apples at Disneyland

Just based on looks alone, the Minnie Mouse Candy Apples are one of my favorite Disneyland treats. If you go to Marceline’s Confectionary in Downtown Disney, you can often see the Disney bakers making these candy apples through the big glass windows. The candy apples are a bit impractical to eat on the go, but they are oh-so-cute. (And Instagram worthy!) These treats are best eaten when you have a moment to sit down at a table. You’ll need a sturdy knife to try to cut into them if you want to share one, but they are sure to be delicious!

It’s Snow-Capped Lemon

Where to Find It: Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, Pixar Pier, Disney California Adventure Park

It's Snow-Capped Lemon!

If you’re looking for a refreshing treat, we recommend the It’s Snow-Capped Lemon. It’s the perfect soft-serve treat. If you’re a big fan of Dole Whip, be sure to try the lemon soft-serve.

Oreo Churros

Where to Find It: The California Churro Company, Downtown Disney

Oreo Churros at Disneyland

While we were walking around Downtown Disney during our first evening in Anaheim, we had to stop by the California Churro Company. They had about a half dozen specialty churros, and we were eager to try the Oreo Churros. The churros had a good Oreo taste and they were topped with a cream cheese frosting. They were very rich, so we recommend sharing this snack!

Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron

Where to Find It: Jolly Holiday Bakery, Main Street USA, Disneyland

Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron at Jolly Holiday Bakery in Disneyland

Located at the Jolly Holiday Bakery Bakery Cafe, you can find the Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron. (Sometimes these are replaced with a seasonal, similar, offering.) This macaron was beautiful and delicious. The macaron filling was light and fluffy, and there were fresh raspberries tucked between the layers. This is definitely a perfect sweet treat!

Goofy’s Kitchen Peanut Butter & Jelly Pizza

Where to Find It: Disneyland Hotel

peanut butter and jelly pizza at Goofy's Kitchen
One of our family’s favorite dishes is the peanut butter & jelly pizza!

We recommend making dinner reservations at Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. The dinner buffet was excellent, but we were most impressed with the Dessert Bar! The dessert buffet had dozens of treats: soft-serve ice cream, donuts, cookies, cheesecakes, dessert pizza, jello, cakes, tarts, and more. Goofy’s Kitchen is known for the peanut butter and jelly pizza, so don’t miss it!

Goofy’s Kitchen is a character meal dining experience, so reservations sell out quickly. You can book either the breakfast or dinner buffet. We saw lots of characters during our meal, including Goofy, Minnie Mouse, Chip and Dale, and Clarabelle Cow.

Battered and Fried Monte Cristo

Where to Find It: Cafe Orleans, New Orleans Square, Disneyland

Monte Cristo sandwich at New Orleans Square in Disneyland

Book a reservation at Cafe Orleans and order the Battered and Fried Monte Cristo sandwich. It’s a decadent sandwich that’s filled with turkey, ham, Swiss cheese, and seasonal preserves. It’s then battered, fried, and topped with powdered sugar. (There’s also the option to have a Battered and Fried Triple Cheese Monte Cristo.) This was my husband’s favorite meal of our trip to Disneyland. I had a few bites, and I have to say, it was really delicious!

Hot Link Corn Dog

Where to Find It: Corn Dog Castle, Paradise Gardens Park, Disney California Adventure

hot link and cheese stick from Corn Dog Castle at Disney California Adventure Park
The hand-dipped cheddar cheese stick is pictured on the left, and the hot link corn dog on the right

Corn dogs are a staple at theme parks, but the ones at Disney California Adventure Park are a step above any others we’ve tasted! We ordered the hot link corn dog and the fried cheddar cheese stick. I liked the hot link so much I ordered it twice on the trip! It was a perfect quick meal and it was so satisfying. They are hand-dipped and have the perfect crisp.

CrazyShake

Where to Find It: CrazyShake Window by Black Tap, Downtown Disney

CrazyShake at Disneyland Black Tap

When you’re in Downtown Disney, be sure to stop by the CrazyShake Takeout Window (or make reservations at the Black Tap restaurant). Their milkshakes are epic! What makes these milkshakes unique is the fact that they are topped with outrageous toppings! Our milkshake came with an entire slice of cake on top. We recommend sharing these decadent treats!

Tip: When packing for your trip, make sure to bring a portable cell phone charger. You’ll need to use your phone constantly while you’re in the park!

Festival Offerings

Festival of the Holidays at California Adventure Disneyland

Disneyland Resorts hosts numerous festivals over the course of the year. If you happen to be at Disneyland during one of these festivals, we definitely recommend trying some of their seasonal specialties! We were recently at Disney California Adventure for the Festival of the Holidays, and there were specialty food carts throughout the park! We picked up a brochure that listed all the offerings, and we had fun trying the various treats and meals. One of our favorites was the pumpkin cheesecake (pictured above).

Tip: We follow the updates from Disney Food Blog (both their website and their YouTube videos). We love watching them before a trip to get ideas and hear their recommendations!

Harbour Galley Cookies

Where to Find It: Harbour Galley, New Orleans Square Disneyland

Okay, these were so good, I didn’t even get a picture. They disappeared too quickly! Our friends shared their chocolate chip cookies 6-pack with us, and they were heavenly. They are a perfectly soft classic chocolate chip cookie. We recommend ordering them with a side of the chocolate-hazelnut whip as a dip. If I had to choose between these cookies and the Jack Jack Cookie Num Nums, I’d choose the Jack Jack at Disney California Adventure. But, these are still worth ordering in their own right!

Red Gamma Gulp

Where to Find It: Pym Test Kitchen, Avenger’s Campus, Disney California Adventure Park

The Red Gamma Gulp is a red velvet cold brew with a cream cheese cold foam. You can find it at Pym Test Kitchen, which is easily one of our favorite restaurants of all the Disney parks! I somehow missed taking a photo of this masterpiece as well, but I promise it’s worth every penny. It’s definitely more of a dessert beverage… (I don’t even want to know how many grams of sugar are in this thing), but it’s definitely worth it as a vacation treat! My husband and I split it while we rope-dropped Cars Land. Pushing the stroller and having this drink in my hand made for a memorable morning!

Looking for a place to stay near Disneyland? We enjoyed our hotel experience at the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn & Mini Suites. It was right across the street from the park!
