Our Review of the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver

Last Updated on December 18, 2024 by Kelly

For our last trip to Vancouver, we wanted to stay at a nice hotel. We were traveling with our toddler, so a high priority for us was location. We wanted to be able to walk everywhere so we wouldn’t have to worry about car seats and parking. We also wanted to stay at a hotel with nice rooms and lots of amenities. After lots of research, we decided to stay at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver. This 5-star hotel is located in the heart of Vancouver. In this post, we’re sharing all about our amazing getaway! We’re including lots of photos of the hotel property and our room.

If you’re in a hurry, here’s a brief overview of our review:

  • We would definitely recommend this hotel to others. We received excellent service and the accommodations were beautiful.
  • The best part was that it was walkable to so many Vancouver attractions.
  • The view from our room was spectacular! Make sure you book a water view room. It’s worth it!
  • The whirlpool hot tub on the roof was my favorite amenity. I loved relaxing in the warm water and feeling like I was at the top of the city.

We are frequent visitors to Vancouver, and the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver has easily been one of our favorite hotels in the city. This luxury hotel is located in downtown Vancouver, and it was within walking distance of numerous attractions and restaurants. We didn’t really need a reason to leave the hotel, though, because there was plenty to see at the Parq Vancouver in-and-of itself. With dining options, bars, a rooftop whirlpool, and its own urban park, we had plenty to do for the weekend!

Our Room

We stayed on the 23rd floor in a king bed guest room with a water view. Our room had a spectacular view of False Creek! One of our favorite parts about our stay was watching the sunrise each morning. The sky was filled with vibrant colors that were reflected perfectly in the calm water. Our daughter also loved watching the boats “wake up” each morning.

The room featured a comfortable work station, an espresso maker, Molten Brown bath products, and an internet-connected TV. The bathroom was lined with marble and there was a door separating the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. The shower had a rain shower head which was a great touch!

The room was also equipped with a luxurious robe, slippers, and an umbrella. (The umbrella was much-needed for a rainy day in Vancouver!)

Amenities

Aqua Lounge

The JW Marriott Parq Vancouver has a whirlpool hot tub located on the 17th floor rooftop. The Aqua Lounge on the 17th floor has chaise lounges and a dedicated yoga space. We woke up early one morning and enjoyed a soak in the hot tub and had the views completely to ourselves. I don’t think there’s a better hot tub in the city!

Fitness Center

The hotel also had one of the best fitness centers I have ever seen at a hotel. It was an extremely large space and was filled with dozens of different machines. There was also a full set of free weights and numerous treadmills. The treadmills face the window, so you can enjoy a spectacular city view while you exercise!

Rooftop Park

The Parq Vancouver also has a 30,000 square foot park located on the 6th floor. It’s an urban green space located right on the property!

Spa by JW Marriott

The Spa by JW Marriott is a day spa with a full list of services and treatments. They offer massages, facials, manicures, and more.

Dining at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver

There are several dining options on-site at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver.

We really enjoyed our brunch at Honey Salt. The avocado toast was beautifully plated, and the buttermilk pancakes were some of the best pancakes we have ever had! I tried the Bougie 75 from their cocktail menu. The drink contained Empress gin, St. Germain, and Mionetto prosecco. It was a dreamy purple hue with gold flakes that made it sparkle.

The hotel also is home to the upscale restaurant The Victor. The Victor is located on the 6th floor and is a high-quality steakhouse. We didn’t dine there this time because we were traveling with our toddler, but we hope to try it next time!

The Parq Vancouver also contains a number of bars, including the Centre Bar, Lotus Whiskey and Tea Lounge, and D/6 Lounge.
