Hyatt Regency Seattle Review: Our Stay, Room Tour, & Best Views

Last Updated on October 6, 2026 by Kelly

Looking for a hotel in downtown Seattle with incredible city views, convenient parking, and an excellent location? We’ve stayed at the Hyatt Regency Seattle on two separate trips, and we would happily stay there again.

We particularly loved that we were staying in a skyscraper downtown with large windows and impressive views of the Seattle skyline. At the same time, its central location makes it easy to reach many of Seattle’s popular downtown attractions.

In this Hyatt Regency Seattle review, I’ll share all about our family stay here, including our room tour, views, parking, Club Lounge, dining options, location, and the nearby attractions you can reach on foot.

Our Experience at the Hyatt Regency Seattle

We booked our first trip to the Hyatt Regency Seattle because we had some credit card points to use, so we decided to turn them into a family staycation. We thought our kids would enjoy the excitement of a hotel stay, and we were looking forward to spending more time in the city without having to worry about commuting.

What surprised us most about the trip was how much we enjoyed simply being at the hotel! The views from our room were impressive, and there were moments when we didn’t even want to leave the room to go explore Seattle. (I honestly would have just loved to stay in the room, watch a movie, and enjoy the city lights.) With the whole city right outside of our window, the hotel itself became part of the experience.

We enjoyed our first visit so much that we returned the following year!

What I especially enjoy about this hotel is its walkability. We walked to Pike Place Market, the Great Wheel, and the monorail.

One thing that stood out across both stays was the consistency. Our second visit gave us the same feeling as the first: A clean, modern hotel, friendly service, and a great downtown location. Because we have had multiple good experiences, I happily recommend the Hyatt Regency Seattle to my own friends and family when they visit Seattle.

The Location: A Great Base for Exploring Seattle

One of the biggest advantages of the Hyatt Regency Seattle is its location. Situated in the heart of downtown, the hotel made it easy for our family to explore Seattle without constantly getting back in the car. During both of our stays, we found ourselves walking to all of the places we wanted to visit, which made exploring the city feel much more relaxed.

From the hotel, we walked to Pike Place Market, the Seattle waterfront, and the Seattle Great Wheel, all of which made for an easy addition to a day of sightseeing. We also found plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

The Seattle Center Monorail is within walking distance of the hotel and provides an easy way to get to the Space Needle and other Seattle Center attractions. (See my full guide to the Space Needle! You absolutely must visit if you’ve never been before!) One of the trip highlights for our kids was taking the monorail – they loved it!

Our Room Tour

We last stayed in room 3435, so keep in mind that this review is specific to the room we were assigned.

One of our favorite things about the room was that we had multiple large windows, giving us views in different directions.

This is what the main bedroom area looked like

The window in the entryway faced north, and we were able to see Lake Union and the city.

The window in the bedroom faced west, and we were able to see the Elliott Bay, ferries coming and going from Bainbridge Island, the Great Wheel, downtown Seattle, and the Seattle waterfront. Our kids loved the view just as much as we did. They loved watching the ferries come and go and seeing the Seattle Great Wheel spin along the waterfront.

The views were beautiful during the day, when we could really take in the city and water, but we also loved seeing the city lights at night.

The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious enough for our family. Even the entrance felt unusually roomy, with a hallway leading into the main part of the room. It gave the space a nice sense of separation and made it feel bigger than we expected.

It was also completely quiet during our stay, which was a big plus. We never had any issues with noise from other guests or the hallway.

We also had a nice experience with the staff. Our alarm had accidentally been set for very early in the morning, and I mentioned it casually when we checked out. They ended up comping our parking, which was an unexpected and very appreciated gesture. It was a great example of the customer service we experienced during our stay.

Parking at the Hyatt Regency Seattle

The hotel has a large, covered, underground parking garage, so you don’t have to worry about leaving your vehicle outside or dealing with Seattle weather while unloading.

We parked a large vehicle and found it very easy to navigate the garage. The parking spaces were wide enough that we didn’t have any trouble getting in and out of our parking space.

Another big plus is the direct access between the garage and the hotel. There’s an elevator within the hotel lobby, making it easy to get from the parking garage to the hotel without having to walk outside with luggage, kids, or anything else you’re carrying.

When we stayed, parking was $69 per night. Parking rates can change, so it’s worth checking the current rate when you book. The price is high, so it’s good to know in advance!

Is the Hyatt Regency Club Lounge Worth It?

One thing we enjoyed during our stay at the Hyatt Regency Seattle was having access to the Club Lounge. If you already have lounge access through your Hyatt status, I think it’s a nice perk to have. That said, I’m not sure I would personally pay extra just for access.

What We Liked About the Club Lounge

The biggest benefit for us was simply having a quiet, comfortable place to sit. Every time we visited, the lounge was practically empty. Sometimes we were the only people there, and even when others were around, there were never more than a few people.

There was also a nice workspace, which would be especially useful if you need to get some work done during your stay. If you’re traveling with someone and don’t want to work from your hotel room, having a separate, quiet space like this can be really convenient.

And the views were excellent. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space. There was a good-sized patio with comfortable seating where we could sit outside and enjoy the city views. It looked like there was a gas fireplace you could ask to have lit as well.

They also had board games available, which I thought was a fun touch for families. It gave us something easy to do together while hanging out in the lounge.

What About the Food?

I would describe the food offerings as snacks rather than full meals.

In the afternoon and evening, we found things like Goldfish crackers, trail mix, Chex Mix, oranges, apples, and bananas. There was also milk, bottled water, sparkling water, and a coffee machine.

Breakfast was fairly simple, with cold cereals and fruit available.

For us, the lounge wasn’t really a substitute for a meal. When we wanted lunch or dinner, we preferred to order takeout and bring it back to the lounge. There was plenty of space to sit and enjoy our food, but the lounge offerings themselves weren’t substantial enough that I would plan on eating a full lunch or dinner there. (Especially when you could be dining at some of the best restaurants in Seattle!)

Is the Club Lounge Worth It?

If you already have Club Lounge access through your Hyatt status, I think it’s a nice perk and definitely worth taking advantage of.

Would I pay extra for access? Probably not. The food offerings were fairly limited, so I don’t think I would justify the cost based on food alone.

For us, the quiet atmosphere, outdoor patio, city views, and extra space were really the highlights (not necessarily the food).

Dining at the Hotel and Nearby

Dining at the Hotel

  • Andare Kitchen & Bar: We didn’t try Andare during our stay because we were traveling with little kids, but it looked like a nice option. The restaurant serves Italian-inspired dishes, including wood-fired pizzas and homemade pasta, and is located right in the hotel lobby.
  • Market: We grabbed lunch here one day. There was no line, which was convenient, and the food was okay. It’s a casual grab-and-go option with sandwiches, salads, hot entrées, pastries, and coffee.
  • Daniel’s Broiler Downtown: This is the hotel’s sophisticated steakhouse. We didn’t dine here during this particular stay, but I’ve eaten at this location before and thought it was excellent. It’s located on the second floor and specializes in prime steaks and seafood in a more upscale setting. I would definitely choose to go here.

Restaurants Within Walking Distance

  • Din Tai Fung: We went here for dinner and really enjoyed it. If you go, definitely save room for the dessert dumplings! The restaurant is at Pacific Place and is known for its soup dumplings and other Taiwanese/Chinese specialties.
  • Pike Place Market: We had lunch at Pike Place Market, which is an easy walk from the Hyatt Regency Seattle. There are so many great food options here that it’s worth exploring rather than choosing just one restaurant. Check out my full guide to Pike Place Market for my favorite picks!
  • Coffee: For coffee, we liked Anchorhead and Monorail Espresso. Both are great options to add to your Seattle itinerary if you’re looking for a local coffee stop rather than relying on the hotel. (Of course, if you’re looking for more options, check out my guide to the best coffee shops in Seattle! Also, my guide to the best donuts in Seattle is a must-read!)

Overall, one of the biggest perks of staying at the Hyatt Regency Seattle is the location. You have several dining options in the hotel itself, while many of Seattle’s most popular restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions are within walking distance.

Our One-Night Staycation Itinerary

Day 1: We checked in and then went to Sea Kids, which is an indoor playground. (See my full list of things to do with kids in Seattle!) We then took the monorail to the Seattle Center. It was a beautiful day, so we played at the playground outside of the MoPOP. (Another good option is to visit the Seattle Children’s Museum – our kids love it!) We then took the monorail back to downtown Seattle and had dinner at Din Tai Fung. After that, we headed to our hotel room for a movie night before bed.

Day 2: We checked out of our room and grabbed a coffee and pastry at Anchorhead Coffee. Then, we walked over to Pike Place Market for a proper brunch. We ate as we explored the market. This time, we really enjoyed the giant snickerdoodle cookies! We then walked down to the waterfront and rode the Great Wheel. Finally, we walked back through Pike Place Market (bought some flowers!) and returned to our car at the Hyatt. We had a fantastic staycation!

Things We Loved About the Hyatt Regency Seattle

We’ve stayed at the Hyatt Regency Seattle twice now, and it has been a great fit for our family.

One of the things we like most is the skyscraper atmosphere. The hotel feels distinctly downtown, with large windows and city views that make staying here feel like part of the Seattle experience. Our rooms have also been comfortable and spacious enough for our family.

The location is another big plus. It’s easy to walk to Pike Place Market, restaurants, coffee shops, and other downtown attractions, and the Seattle Center Monorail is also within walking distance. Having so much nearby makes it especially convenient when you’re traveling with kids and don’t want to be in the car for every outing.

The hotel has a large parking garage, which is something I really appreciate when staying downtown. We were able to drive from our home and park without any stress. Parking can be a headache downtown, so having a convenient garage right at the hotel makes a difference.

We’ve also found the hotel to be very family-friendly. It has the amenities and feel of a large upscale city hotel, but we never felt out of place traveling with little kids.

On our most recent stay, we also made use of the Club Lounge, which gave us a comfortable place to get some work done. Having a workspace outside the room was particularly helpful when traveling as a family.

Things to Consider Before Booking

The Hyatt Regency Seattle has worked really well for our family, but I wouldn’t say it’s the perfect choice for every traveler.

Parking is convenient, but it adds to the overall cost of a downtown stay. We appreciated having a large parking garage at the hotel, especially when traveling with kids, but it’s something to factor into your budget if you’re bringing a car.

I’d also consider what you’re hoping to get from the Club Lounge before paying extra for access. We liked having the lounge as a comfortable place to work, but if you’re primarily booking Club Lounge access for an extensive food selection, I’m not sure the additional expense would be worthwhile for everyone.

And while I love the hotel’s walkable downtown location, remember that “walkable” can mean a fair amount of walking when you’re traveling with young kids. Places like Pike Place Market and other downtown attractions may be within walking distance, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the walk will feel short with little ones in tow.

For us, these weren’t dealbreakers, but they’re worth knowing about so you can decide whether the Hyatt Regency Seattle is a good fit for your trip.

Summary: Would We Stay Again?

Planning a Seattle trip? Check rates and availability at the Hyatt Regency Seattle.

Yes! We’ve already stayed twice, and I’d stay here again.

I think it’s a great fit for families and travelers who want a convenient downtown base for exploring Seattle. Parking adds to the cost, and some attractions involve more walking than you might expect with young kids, but the location and overall experience have worked really well for us. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

Journey well 🙂
