Best Hotels in Walla Walla
1. Marcus Whitman Hotel

We stayed at the Marcus Whitman Hotel during our last visit to Walla Walla. We were really pleased with our stay at the Marcus Whitman Hotel. The hotel is centrally located downtown, so we were able to walk practically everywhere!
The Marcus Whitman Hotel was constructed in 1928 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
The hotel has housed famous celebrities such as actress Shirley Temple, musician Louis Armstrong, and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. (To name just a few!)
The Marcus Whitman Hotel has also received numerous accolades, including the 2015 Hotel of the Year Award from the Annual Washington State Wine Awards. It’s also the tallest building in Walla Walla.
When making a reservation, we recommend booking a room in “the tower” portion of the hotel, as opposed to the newer wing of the hotel. We’ve stayed in both parts of the hotel, and we greatly preferred staying in the historic tower.
You can read all about our stay at the Marcus Whitman Hotel. We include more details and photos of our stay!
2. The FINCH
The FINCH is a newer hotel centrally located in downtown Walla Walla. With a fresh and modern feel, this hotel is easily walkable to downtown Walla Walla. (That means you can walk to over 30 downtown tasting rooms!)
The FINCH also has lots of outdoor gathering places, so you can easily kick back and relax while staying at the hotel.
This boutique hotel features 80 guest rooms and is pet-friendly. There’s even a bunk room if you want to share a room with multiple friends.
3. Eritage Resort
The Eritage Resort features luxury suites with expansive views of the Walla Walla Wine Valley. With over 300-acres, the property is absolutely dazzling.
If you’re looking for a luxurious wine country experience, this is the place to go.
The resort has 20 luxury suites, an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, wine tasting, in-room massage, complimentary breakfast, cruiser bikes, lawn games, and paddle boarding.
The Eritage Restaurant is onsite and provides a fine dining experience.
This is where I would choose to stay for our next trip to Walla Walla!
4. Courtyard by Marriott Walla Walla
The Courtyard by Marriott Walla Walla is about a .7 mile walk from the downtown area near East Main Street.
The hotel offers onsite dining, a fitness center, and an outdoor seating space.

Stay at a Winery in Walla Walla
Prefer to stay on the property of a winery in Walla Walla? You have a couple of options!
5. Inn at Abeja
The Inn at Abeja offers charming cottages and suites. It’s located about 6 miles east of downtown Walla Walla. The property is 38-acres, so you’ll definitely have a more country feel for your stay.
While staying here, you’ll be able to easily access the Abeja winery and the Kitchen at Abeja for farm-to-table dining. At the time of this writing, tastings at the winery are $45 per person, but this fee is waived if you are staying on the property.
This is an incredibly picturesque and peaceful property to enjoy.
6. Yellowhawk Resort
Yellowhawk Resort was one of our favorite wineries in Walla Walla, and it’s also someplace you can stay! The 84-acre property is quite large, with commanding views from the hilltop. There’s a restaurant and tasting room onsite.
You can choose to book either the Estate House (8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms) or the Pool House (1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and murphy bed).
The hotel is filled with rustic decor, including a large stone fireplace and plenty of carved woodwork. There is also a swimming pool with cabanas.
7. The Barn B&B Walla Walla
The Barn B&B Walla Walla describes themselves as more of an auberge de campagne (country inn) located in an idyllic countryside. This bed and breakfast features a heated swimming pool and hot tub.
When you stay here, you’ll have a complimentary breakfast, a welcome drink of wine, a complimentary dinner on Thursdays, and a complimentary bottle of Walla Walla in your suite.
8. Cameo Heights Mansion
The Cameo Heights Mansion is a luxurious bed and breakfast located in the nearby town of Touchet. The mansion is adults-only and features uniquely-styled rooms, a pool, and a fine dining restaurant. This location would be perfect for a romantic getaway.
Campgrounds in Walla Walla
If you have an RV, there are a couple of campgrounds in Walla Walla to choose from.
Blue Valley RV Park
The Blue Valley RV Park is located about a mile north of downtown Walla Walla. The RV park is close to an outdoor concert venue, which is perfect if you want to listen to some outdoor music. If you want a more quiet experience, though, be sure to book your stay outside of a concert date. The RV park has 60 large sites that accommodate slide-outs.
RV Resort Four Seasons
The RV Resort Four Seasons is located about two miles south of downtown Walla Walla. There are 89 campsites. Tents and car camping are not allowed, as you must have an RV.
Pierce’s Green Valley RV Park
Located about 25 miles west of downtown Walla Walla is Pierce’s Green Valley RV Park. It’s located alongside the river, so it’s a more picturesque location.
Summary
I’ve been to Walla Walla twice for wine tasting weekends. For the first trip, I stayed at a private vacation home with several friends. For the second trip, I stayed at the Marcus Whitman Hotel with my husband. Both trips were phenomenal, and I enjoyed both types of accommodations.
If you’re looking for the best places to stay in Walla Walla, I especially recommend that you consider the following:
- Marcus Whitman Hotel and Conference Center
- The FINCH
- Eritage Resort
- Inn at Abeja
