Accommodations at the Park
The Lodge at Bryce Canyon
There’s just one hotel located within Bryce Canyon National Park itself, and that’s the Lodge at Bryce Canyon. Because it’s the only option within the park, it books up fast. You’ll want to make your reservations as soon as possible to secure lodging there. They typically accept reservations up to 13 months in advance. You can choose to book a room at the main lodge, Sunrise Motel, Sunset Motel, or private cabins. (Note that the lodge is open seasonally.)
The lodge itself is conveniently located just 5 minutes past the visitor center, and it’s nestled between Sunrise and Sunset Points. The best part about staying at this hotel is that the canyon rim is just a short walk away. You can soak up the views anytime you like… including before the crowds arrive!
The lodge also has a dining room, pizzeria and coffee shop, and general store. There’s also an option for guests to reserve horseback riding experiences. One thing that the lodge doesn’t have, however, is a swimming pool.
Although we personally didn’t stay at the Lodge at Bryce Canyon when we were visiting, we did see it as we were walking from Sunrise to Sunset Points. It’s location is certainly unbeatable!

Hotels in Bryce Canyon City
Just adjacent to Bryce Canyon National Park is the town of Bryce. This is where most travelers stay when they visit Bryce Canyon. It’s only a 6-minute drive to the park entrance, so it’s a very convenient place to stay. There’s also a free shuttle that will transport guests from Bryce into the national park. (If you don’t stay in Bryce, though, you can still park at the shuttle station to use the shuttle.) It’s definitely an added perk, though, when there is a shuttle stop right at your hotel door! You won’t have to worry about crowds or parking, which makes for a stress-free vacation.

Best Western Plus Ruby’s Inn
One of the most popular hotels in Bryce is Best Western Plus Ruby’s Inn. This hotel has it all: a restaurant, a gift shop, and a concierge desk that coordinates tons of local activities (such as horseback riding, mountain biking, guided ATV tours, and more). It’s also a pet-friendly hotel if you are planning on bringing your dog. They have an indoor heated pool and an outdoor seasonal pool, as well as a basketball court. The hotel is also within walking distance of the Bryce Canyon City Park Playground. There’s tons of things to do at this hotel if you are taking a break from the park. The shuttle also stops right at this hotel, so it’s convenient to get into the park each day.
Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel
The Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon Grand Hotel is also conveniently located right next to the park and within walking distance of Old Bryce Town. The shuttle also stops at this hotel. This is where we personally stayed during our trip to Bryce Canyon, and this was by far our favorite hotel of our entire road trip. The rooms were large, and we had double sinks with a separate bathroom. The hotel had an outdoor pool and the best continental breakfast of our entire trip. There were dozens of hot and cold options for breakfast. We especially enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the pastries. We were able to easily walk to Old Bryce Town and enjoy shopping and ice cream. We would recommend this hotel to others based on our experience.
Bryce Canyon Resort
The Bryce Canyon Resort is still technically within Bryce Canyon City, but it’s not walkable to Old Bryce Town like the Grand Hotel or Ruby’s Inn. The advantage is that it’s further away from the crowds and it’s a more secluded experience. The resort has guest rooms and cabins available. There are two on-site restaurants (Cowboy Ranch House and Subway). They also have pet-friendly rooms. You can rent ATVs and bikes at this location. The rooms also tend to be more affordable than the hotels listed above.
Bryce Canyon was just one of our stops during our 3-week road trip to Utah and Arizona. Check out that post to see all of our favorite stops! |
Hotels in Tropic
Tropic is located about 11 miles away from Bryce Canyon National Park. It’s about a 16-minute drive to the entrance of Bryce Canyon National Park.
Stone Canyon Inn
If we could book our trip all over again, this is where we would choose to stay. The Stone Canyon Inn was rated as one of the 10 best lodging properties in the United States for getting lost in the outdoors by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. The Stone Canyon Inn features cabins, bungalows, trees houses, deluxe king rooms, and a guest house! (So basically they have something for everyone.) They’re also one of the few hotels that have a view of the canyon itself. From the property you can see Bristlecone Ridge, Sinking Ship, Fairyland Amphitheater, Sunrise Point, and Sunset Point. The hotel also has excellent dining available at The Stone Hearth Grille (open seasonly).
Red Ledges Inn
The Red Ledges Inn offers affordable rates and basic amenities. If you’re looking to spend most of your trip outdoors away from the hotel, this hotel will certainly meet your needs. There is no dining on-site (besides a continental breakfast), but it is within walking distance to several restaurants in Tropic.
Hotels in Panguitch
Panguitch is the furthest away from Bryce Canyon National Park among these choices. It’s about 25 miles away from the entrance, which is about a 33-minute drive to the park. If you’re traveling on a budget, this is also where to find the most affordable hotels near Bryce Canyon.
Quality Inn Bryce Canyon
The Quality Inn Bryce Canyon is 18.5 miles away from the park entrance. The hotel has a western-theme despite being a chain hotel. They serve a complimentary hot breakfast each morning. This is also a pet-friendly hotel.
Church’s Blue Pine Motel
Church’s Blue Pine Motel is an affordable motel. It’s within walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Campgrounds
North Campground
Within Bryce Canyon National Park, you’ll find the North Campground. The campground does not accept reservations, so it’s a first-come, first-served basis. There are 99 total sites within four loops. There are no sewer, water, or electrical hook-ups. There is a dump station that’s available during the summer for a small fee. There are RV-only sites and tent-only sites. The North Campground is located close to the park’s visitor center.
Sunset Campground
The Sunset Campground is also located within Bryce Canyon National Park and is near the park’s visitor center and Sunset Point. There is a shuttle stop near the campground entrance. There are 100 sites in three separate loops. Loop A is for RV campers, and Loops B and C are for tent campers. There are no sewer, water, or electrical hook-ups. There is a dump station that’s available during the summer for a small fee. Depending on the season, it’s either first-come, first-served, or there are reservations for peak season. More information is located here.
Ruby’s Inn RV Park & Campground
Outside of the park, approximately 7 minutes away, is Ruby’s Inn RV Park & Campground. There are 150 campsites that have electric and water, with some that have full hook-ups. Some of the sites also have large pull-through areas which accommodate trailers well. They also have cabins and tipis available for rent. There are restroom and shower facilities, as well as an outdoor heated pool.
