One of our favorite wineries from our trip to Walla Walla was Long Shadows Vintners. We visited numerous wineries during our trip, and we brought our own ranking cards to give points to each wine. The wines at Long Shadows Vintners were some of our favorites! The winery also had excellent views and elegant decor. In this post, we’ll share all about our experience at Long Shadows Vintners in Walla Walla.
About Long Shadows Vintners
Long Shadows Vintners has two locations: Walla Walla and Woodinville. This post covers our visit to the Walla Walla location.
Allen Shoup, previous CEO of Chateau Ste. Michelle, began Long Shadows Vintners with the mission of creating ultra-premium wines. He then recruited some of the best winemakers from around the world. Winemakers from Italy, France, Germany, Australia, and many more places were brought together with the sole task of creating the best wine possible.
The winery has has been awarded many accolades over the years, including Food & Wine Magazine’s “Winery of the Year.” It’s also been awarded “Best Wine Tasting Room in the Country” by USA Today’s Readers Choice Awards.

Our Experience at Long Shadows Vintners
We visited Long Shadows Vintners on our last day in Walla Walla, and it seems we saved the best for last! During our weekend in Walla Walla, we took notes and rated all the wines we tasted at the different wineries. Hands down, Long Shadows had some of our highest ratings from our trip to Walla Walla!
It was a beautiful day at Long Shadows, so we opted to sit outside for our wine tasting. We had excellent views of the rolling fields. We also toured inside the building to see the famous Chihuly Room. The Chihuly glass displayed throughout the room made for such an elegant setting!
We ordered a white wine tasting flight, and it received some of our best scores of the entire trip. Each wine sampling was truly outstanding.
Our server told us that the shape of a wine glass can really impact the wine’s taste and scent. I was skeptical, but after our server gave us a demonstration I was able to notice a difference! (And I do not have a sophisticated wine palate.) We recommend you ask about this when you visit – it was really cool!

Summary
If you’re planning a wine tasting trip to Walla Walla, you absolutely must add Long Shadows Vintners to your trip itinerary. It was one of the most outstanding wineries we visited! The wines were our favorite, and it also had a great view!
